Job Summary

The  PMO Specialist is a key role that supports Project Leaders in effective and efficient Project Delivery Management. The PMO Specialist is part of the (global) PMO Department and reports to the Head of it. The PMO provides reporting, structure, efficiency, standards and quality assurance across all projects.

 

The  PMO Specialist will be expected to work throughout the lifecycles of APAC regional projects supporting the initiation, daily management and reporting on a portfolio of some 10 - 40 IT projects on budget, finance and resources, supporting the program/project managers.

 

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain capacity and manage detailed resource planning in MS Project;
  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting on project budget, finance and resources;
  • Report and review project finance with project lead and solution team manager
  • Provide accurate project management dashboard reporting & metrics;
  • Register and manage action items, issue logs, RFCs (Requests For Change), risk analysis, decisions, and other project documentation;
  • Build effective relationships with Project Leaders and assist them in proving structure and support of the project;
  • Challenge Project and Program Managers with respect to Project Management deliverables timeliness, quality, accuracy and integrity;
  • Plan and organize meetings and related facilities;
  • Prepares communication and/or escalations on the issues/risks and the required contingency/mitigation actions with the Project Leader

 

 

General Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proven experience as project management officer or similar position in IT/Banking/Finance companies;
  • Basic finance knowledge, and experience with project financials;
  • Sound knowledge of project management methodologies like PRINCE2;
  • Experienced in MS Excel including macros. Proficient user of MS Project;
  • Initiative, setting clear priorities, giving direction, influencing without power;
  • Skills to support and advise middle and senior management to effect sustainable change in complex scenarios in large organizations;
  • Communication skills;
  • Solution minded, precise and practical, creative when handling problems independently;
  • Able to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
  • A high degree of attention to quality, detail and deadlines.
  • Fluent in English.
